Mission Statement
Hagar's House is an organization under the First Grace Community Alliance (FGCA) umbrella. The mission of FGCA is to work with and for people in need, especially women and their children, by meeting food, housing and other emergency needs, while simultaneously challenging systemic poverty in the greater New Orleans area. FGCA does this through two primary programs: Hagar's House and Project Ishmael (www.ProjectIshmaelNOLA.org).

| Sustainable Gardening | Hagar's House is an open, beautiful space for families to call home while they work on securing permanent housing. We welcome into our community women, children, and all those who identify as transgender. We also support the wellness of our residents with holistic programming - including access to a community garden so that they can plant, grow, and harvest whole foods and medicines. You would help residents and their children learn about sustainable food practices, homesteading, and plant-based medicine. You would also help staff in the garden: weeding, tilling, planting, harvesting, composting, and planning. Scheduling is very flexible. | Summer/2020 |
